New Information about a Gravesite

The surveys conducted by the Daughters of the American Revolution and the University of Pennsylvania did not record every historic gravestone in the Town of Southampton. Although the historic grave markers in the ten cemeteries owned by the Town have all been carefully documented, many gravestones are illegible or have been lost. In addition to the town-owned cemeteries, Southampton Town has at least 46 other cemeteries or burial sites that are privately owned. While this website includes over 3,000 historic records from these private cemeteries, the listing for historical grave markers in these cemeteries is not complete. 

As more information about a historic gravesite is uncovered, this information will be stored in the database called "New Survey". Like the other databases on this website, the records in the New Survey are searchable and will appear as part of a general search of the databases.
